Kieran Hayler to Stand Trial for Rape as Katie Price Named as Witness
Former glamour model’s ex-husband faces four charges relating to alleged offences against a 13-year-old girl
Kieran Hayler, 38, appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday facing serious sexual offence charges, as it emerged his ex-wife Katie Price will be called to give evidence at his trial later this year.
Hayler — a former stripper and occasional actor, perhaps best known for his high-profile marriage to glamour model and media personality Price — faces three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The charges relate to alleged offences against a 13-year-old girl at an address in West Sussex between June 1 and October 13, 2016.
The charges
Sussex Police charged Hayler in October following a lengthy investigation. The alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been supported by specially trained officers throughout the process.
Hayler has pleaded not guilty to all four counts and his representative has been unequivocal in his defence. “Kieran Hayler strongly denies the allegations made against him in their entirety,” a statement read. “He looks forward to his name being cleared, believing in the judicial system to do so.”
A provisional trial date has been set for October 5, with proceedings expected to last approximately one week.
Katie Price to testify
The court heard that Price, 47, will be called as a witness during the trial. At the time of the alleged offences, Hayler and Price were married — the pair having tied the knot at a luxury Bahamas resort in 2013. Price was Hayler’s most prominent relationship; he was her third husband, following her marriages to singer Peter Andre and MMA fighter Alex Reid.
The couple separated in 2018 amid cheating allegations against Hayler and finalised their divorce in 2021.
Since the split
Following the breakdown of his marriage to Price, Hayler became engaged to Michelle Penticost, though the pair reportedly separated earlier this year.
Price, meanwhile, has recently married Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews, though she has since raised public concern over his unexplained disappearance.
Hayler, of Northchapel, West Sussex, remains on bail ahead of the October trial.
