Bag Wars: A Tesco’s Tale

Let’s delve into the pay-for-plastic-bags scandal.

I can’t recall the exact year it started, but I vividly remember my initial reaction: “Oh, this is just another way for them to shaft us a little bit further.”

It all began with a purported noble cause—to save the planet, they claimed. But let’s call it what it is: a big fat fucking lie, concocted to squeeze more money and control out of the population. Five pence for a carrier bag? Outrageous doesn’t even begin to cover it 😑.

I never signed up for this. Why should I have to pay for a bloody shopping bag after already dropping loads in your bloody shop? And then they had the audacity to make it law! Obviously not the best idea; it’s sheer lunacy!

Fast forward a few years, and what do we have? The average cost of a carrier bag has soared to a mind-boggling 30 pence! Thirty fucking pence! Morrison’s have taken it even further, daring to charge a whopping 65p for… wait for it… paper fucking shopping bags 😵🤮.

Bag Rebellion at Tesco

Anyway, let’s get to the heart of the matter. I found myself in Tesco yesterday, as usual, spending way over £100 on what barely filled two bags—hardly enough for two days’ worth of food, etc… The cost of living crisis is still in full swing.

Naughty as I am, I thought, “Screw you and your 30p bags.” So, I decided not to pay for them. You know, standing up for our rights and humanity 🤣👏👆.

The Bag Police Encounter

Well, my little act of rebellion was short-lived. As I reached the end of my shopping, loading up the bags, along comes the lovely fucking bag police, printing out a copy of my receipt from the till… He was only bastard checking if I’d paid for the bags 🙄😕… Screw my life. My protest against the bag wars fizzled out. I ended up paying £1.80 for 6 bloody carrier bags (when in reality, I only needed fucking 2 🤣). I was absolutely distraught, furious, raging, livid, ready to cause destruction on the inside. But I kept my cool on the outside.

Corporate Overlords and Bag Taxes

You do realise that when you work for a big company, you’re essentially serving a corporation—the people who run the world, those who bestow crazy fucking laws upon us and decide our fate!

Those rich million, billionaire bastards who have not a worry in the world about society, because let’s face it, most of them have never spent a fucking second living in the reality they’ve created for us. We line their pockets every damn day without a second thought. While they scheme wars and human destruction with the money we literally just fucking handed them. And that little bit they toss back to you after you’ve slaved away for them?

Well, that’s what keeps society churning—fear, manipulation, and control.

Final Thoughts

The stark reality is that it starts with something small and supposedly good intentions but always ends up that we the people lose out and end up worse off. These overlords run the world. They’ve been creating these absurd laws since the beginning of their reign hundreds of years ago.

The story is not just about plastic bags; it’s about the Moguls who keep us down and restricted. The billionaires who decide our fate every day! The sociopaths in charge of the society THEY created. But we seemingly blindly led ourselves into.

So, here’s to standing up for fucking shopping bags, standing up for yourself, and most importantly, standing up for society! Remember, it’s the little wins that count 💃👆🕺🤣.
