YOUNG OFFENDER SUBJECTED TO BRUTAL SEXUAL ATTACK AT HMP PARC

HMP Parc is facing serious concerns over prisoner safety after a young offender, aged just 18-19, was subjected to a violent and sexually motivated attack within the facility.
According to a trusted source, the incident occurred two days ago, where the vulnerable young victim was targeted by a known dangerous offender. Reports indicate that the attacker first threatened the victim with sexual violence, before pouring scalding hot water over him to force compliance. The assault escalated further, with the perpetrator allegedly holding a bladed weapon and forcing the victim to perform a sexual act.
The victim’s clothing has since been removed for forensic testing, but the wider issue remains—why was he placed in such a dangerous situation in the first place?
SERIOUS SAFEGUARDING FAILURES
The brutality of this attack has raised significant concerns over how vulnerable prisoners are protected within the UK’s prison system.
The perpetrator was already recognised as dangerous, while the victim was known to be vulnerable. This raises critical questions about HMP Parc’s duty of care and whether the prison took the necessary precautions to prevent such an attack.
While cases of sexual violence in UK prisons are not reported as a widespread issue, even one incident is too many. The impact of sexual crimes within the prison system can have lifelong psychological and emotional consequences, leaving victims traumatised and feeling entirely unprotected.
CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY
HMP Prisons Justice Group is calling for full accountability from the prison service.
“This should never have happened. A vulnerable young person was left exposed to a violent, dangerous offender, and the consequences have been devastating. This isn’t just an individual crime—it is a catastrophic failure of the prison system to safeguard those in its care.”
For survivors of sexual violence, the group has also issued a message of support:
“To those who have experienced sexual crimes, we see you, we hear you, and we understand the devastation and destruction offenders leave behind. We stand with you, and we stand with this victim.”
